Romanian Rainbow Heirloom Sweet Pepper
This sweet roasting pepper has wonderful flavor, starts producing very early, grows on sturdy productive plants, and is pretty enough to be grown just for looks. An heirloom from Eastern Europe, it's traditionally fried to bring out the sweet flavor.
The first seeds were first smuggled out by a Romanian acrobat who defected to the U.S. in 1991. This must be a pretty important pepper!
Colorful, heart-shaped peppers grow about 4" long. They start out yellow, ripen to orange, then red, all with a sunset blush. Upright sturdy plants have strong branches, they start producing very early, and deliver generously all season long. These sweet, beautiful peppers should be welcome in any kitchen. 50 - 80 days.
