Sequoiadendrum giganteum - Giant Sequoia

California’s Giant Sequoia is the the largest living thing on the planet. These trees can grow to more than 250 feet tall (as tall as a 25-story building), with a diameter up to 30 feet. They grow quickly and can live to be 3,000 years old. That's old.

Giant Sequoias grow on the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California, zones 6 to 8. They grow best in deep, well-drained sandy loam, cool temps, somewhat dappled light. Can be drought tolerant, but prefer regular deep watering.

The seeds should be cold-stratified (or sown just before winter), then planted in well-drained soil out of direct sun. Germination rate is naturally 20% to 40%, so we're sending you a lot of seed.

This legendary tree makes a spectacular bonsai.

25 seeds.
