Tom Thumb Heirloom Lettuce
Tom Thumb lettuce grows fat little rosettes that fit in the palm of your hand. They're perfect for single salads, ideal for growing in patio gardens or containers, always a sellout at farmers' markets.
This mini butterhead is one of our oldest heirlooms. It was grown by Thomas Jefferson at Monticello and was all the rage in the early 1900’s. It fell off the map when Iceburg was invented (boo). An excellent summer lettuce, it resists bolting and it actually tastes like lettuce. 45 days.
