Agave utahensis, Utah Agave

$9.95

Agave utahensis is one of the smallest of its species. A compact rosette with soft toothy spines, it's especially pretty. Native to the American Southwest, it grows in brutal conditions from scorching heat to temps below zero and is beyond drought-tolerant. It needs gritty soil with good drainage. This uncommon agave is often found growing out of rock walls!

Mature plants grow several feet wide and send up 15' stalks of yellow blooms in winter. They also form offsets around the mother plant, making a dense and impressive cluster. A. utahensis grows slowly, and young plants are small enough to thrive on a sunny windowsill.

Surface sow on a gritty mix in a warm, bright spot. Seeds make take days or several months to appear, please be patient.

5 seeds.
