Takasunome Hawk Claw Japanese Pepper

$3.99

Hawk Claw Pepper was brought to Japan by the Portuguese in the 1800's. It's slender, curved like a talon, and fiercely hot. The Japanese use Takanotsume as a condiment and it makes an excellent dried pepper (though you're welcome to eat one fresh, if you dare.)

The bright red peppers grow upright on bushy plants only 2' high, perfect for containers. They're quite showy, as pretty as a Christmas poinsettia and a lot more useful. The young green peppers can be used in cooking, the dried red ones crumbled and sprinkled. Hot and very pretty. 80 days.
